Kathleen graduated from Chase County High School and Emporia State University. She graduated from ESU Summa Cum Laude in 1997 receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business with a major in accounting. Kathleen received her license to practice as a Certified Public Accountant in 1998 and joined Agler & Gaeddert, Chartered in 1999 and became a shareholder in 2016. Her main focus during her professional career has been all areas of tax. She assists individual, business and not for profit clients in tax planning and preparation.
Kathleen is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). She received this designation in 2013. She has attended the Global Fraud Conference set up by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners in past years to stay informed of the most up to date information in the fraud detection and deterrence industry. She attends classes and other events sponsored by the ACFE each year. Kathleen has been involve in multiple fraud cases and has worked with local and national authorities when necessary.
Kathleen is a member of the Sage 50 (previously known as Peachtree) Sage Accountants Network. She is also a part of the Quickbooks Proadvisor program.
Kathleen volunteers for various organizations. She was named the 2014 “Volunteer of the Year” by the Emporia Area Chamber of Commerce and served as the Ambassador chair that year. She graduated with the 23rd class of Leadership Emporia. Kathleen is also a Class of 2017 graduate of the Emporia Lyon County Public Safety Citizens Academy.
Kathleen is married to Jeff, and they have three children and four dogs. Kathleen enjoys spending time with her family and attending her children’s multiple activities from sporting events to theatrical plays. She also loves cheering for the Dallas Cowboys during football season with her husband. She relaxes with yoga, walking, reading and cuddling her rescue dog, Scooby.
